How to use this book

Think of yourself as a pond, and despite how you may feel sometimes, think of yourself as a calm pond, with smooth water reflecting the calming surroundings.

So, the first thing is, breathe, relax, connect with your heart.

Then, we are going to throw a pebble into the pond. It goes in with a plop! And you sense the waves from the pebble emanating out. You see and feel the reflections that were flat take on new dimensions – some dissolve into completely different images – and maybe some are just the sky.

The pebbles are each aphorism-experience in the book. Allow each one to just go in, and make its little waves. How does it feel? Sense how the words and images work together – right brain/left brain. Is the experience scary, comforting, confounding? Maybe the experience challenges some core beliefs. Notice that the aphorisms may be saying something that is a little different (or very different!) than you thought. But allow the process. Allow the waves, without judgement to gently rock your feeling about things, your thinking and perspective…

Take your time. Enjoy!
